Many Umrah trips from Casablanca are organised from somewhere else: a son in Lyon, a daughter in Montreal, a cousin in Dubai. You book online, your parents travel, and on the day you follow it all by phone. This guide is written for that situation.
It sticks to what the sources say about Mohammed V airport itself, with a date on every fact. When a source is old or missing, we say so, and tell you who to ask instead. Nothing here is a booking page: there are no offers and no package prices.
Which terminal do Saudi flights use?
The honest answer is: the one printed on your parents' ticket. Here is why we cannot be more precise.
All international flights at Mohammed V moved from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 on 7 May 2021, and Terminal 2 could reopen once traffic returned to normal, according to ONDA (May 2021 statement); check the terminal on your ticket or with the airline3. We have not found a later public source that says which terminal handles flights to Jeddah or Madinah today.
So do this from abroad: open the e-ticket or the airline app and look for the terminal. If it is not shown, call or message the airline the day before. Then send your parents the answer in a form they can show a driver, such as a short text message or a note in their passport wallet.
What about the Hajj terminal? For Hajj 2026, ONDA (Morocco's airports authority) fully adapted Terminal 3 for Hajj flights, and that set-up does not apply to regular Umrah flights2. If a relative went on Hajj from there, your parents should not assume their Umrah flight leaves from the same building.
Terminal 1 is large: it opened on 22 January 2019 with 76,000 m² of floor space and a capacity of about 7 million passengers a year5. For an older traveller, that means long walks with a trolley and long queues. If your father or mother tires quickly, ask the airline at booking what help it can arrange inside the airport. Our guide to the CMN terminals covers each building in more detail.
How do they get to the airport without a car?
Two options are described by the airport operator itself: the train and the Aérobus. We have no verified information on taxis or parking, so we leave them out rather than guess.
The train. According to ONDA, the railway station at Mohammed V airport is reached from the arrivals hall and has ticket offices and self-service machines; ONDA refers travellers to oncf.ma for connections, timetables and fares7. We do not publish timetables or fares we have not checked at the source.
One practical point: because the station opens on the arrivals side, your parents will walk through the building to the departure check-in desks with their luggage. Build that walk into the timing, especially with two large suitcases.
The Aérobus. According to ONDA's website (undated page), the Aérobus links the airport with Casa-Port station for a flat fare of 50 dirhams, payable in cash, by bank card or by rechargeable card8. Since the page carries no date, suggest they keep some extra cash in case the fare has changed.
In Ramadan. During Ramadan 1447 (February-March 2026), ONCF kept 1 train per hour on the airport line, from 5:40 to 22:5512. The schedule for the next Ramadan has not been published yet, so check oncf.ma closer to the date.
For a fuller comparison of both options, including the return journey, read getting to CMN by train or Aérobus.
Who flies direct from Casablanca?
Two airlines are confirmed by our sources for scheduled flights between Casablanca and Saudi Arabia.
According to the Royal Air Maroc website, the airline sells Casablanca-Jeddah and Casablanca-Madinah flights9. The Madinah route matters if your parents want to start the trip in Madinah without changing planes.
flynas has connected Jeddah and Casablanca since 2023, with 3 flights a week at launch10. That figure describes the launch, not today's schedule.
Saudia also appears in the Casablanca record, but through Hajj: for Hajj 2024, Terminal 3 handled Hajj flights by Royal Air Maroc, flynas and Saudia14. We have no recent dated source on Saudia's regular schedule from Mohammed V, so check with the airline directly.
We do not give frequencies or prices, because we have no current dated source for either. What each airline's sources say is set out in our page on Casablanca to Jeddah and Medina flights.
Which meningococcal certificate do they need?
According to the Saudi Ministry of Health's official document for Umrah 1447 AH (2026), everyone coming to perform Umrah must be vaccinated against meningococcal disease, at least 10 days before arrival1.
The same document accepts a quadrivalent (ACYW) or pentavalent (ACYWX) conjugate vaccine received within the last 5 years, or a quadrivalent (ACYW) polysaccharide vaccine received within the last 3 years1. The document for the 1448 AH season had not been found when we checked, so ask the doctor or vaccination centre to confirm the rule in force before booking the appointment1.
The ministry also asks that the vaccination certificate clearly state the name, type and date of administration of the meningococcal vaccine1. From abroad, the simplest check is to ask your parents for a clear photo of the certificate and read those three lines yourself. The background, with its sources, is set out on guideomra.ma's meningitis page for Umrah pilgrims.
Practical rule with older parents: book early. An appointment squeezed into the week of departure leaves no margin if a paper is missing.
Is the Makkah Route for Umrah?
No. The Makkah Route is Saudi pre-clearance at the departure airport, and at Casablanca it is a Hajj arrangement: for Hajj 2026 it was in its 5th year at Terminal 3 of Mohammed V airport2. The first Makkah Route flight from Casablanca that season was scheduled for 7 May 202615.
Your parents' Umrah departure does not use it, even though it leaves from the same airport. If anyone presents the Makkah Route as a feature of an Umrah trip, ask them for their source. If someone in the family is going on Hajj instead, read our page on Hajj departure day at the Hajj terminal.
How can you help from abroad on the day?
Most of what goes wrong on departure day could have been settled the evening before. This is the order we suggest when you organise from another country.
In order
- Two or three days before: check the ticket (terminal, time, airline) and confirm by phone with the airline if the terminal is missing.
- The evening before: make sure the passport, the ticket and the meningococcal vaccination certificate are in one envelope your parents can reach easily1.
- On the way: agree on who drives or which transport they take, and share that person's phone number with everyone involved.
- At the airport: ask your parents to send a short message once their bags are checked in, and again at the gate.
- For the return: note the return flight number and arrange who meets them at arrivals.
If your parents travel with a group, ask the group leader in advance which documents stay with them and which the leader keeps.
This site explains the practical side of leaving from Casablanca, not how to perform Umrah. For questions about the rites, ask an imam or a scholar you trust.
