Casablanca to Jeddah and Medina: direct flights from CMN

If you search for a flight from Casablanca to Jeddah, you find a lot of fares and very little that is dated. This page does the opposite: no prices, no guessed timetables, only what an airline or a reputable outlet has said about flights from Mohammed V airport (CMN), and when.

It is written for travellers booking their own Umrah flight, often from abroad for a parent in Morocco, and for anyone who wants to check what an agency or a website tells them about a route.

Which airlines fly direct from Casablanca to Saudi Arabia?

Three airlines show up in our sources. Only two are confirmed for scheduled routes.

Royal Air Maroc. According to the Royal Air Maroc website, the airline sells Casablanca-Jeddah and Casablanca-Madinah flights, while its frequencies and Ramadan 2027 schedule are not known1. It is the only airline in our sources with a direct Casablanca-Madinah route.

flynas. The Saudi airline has connected Jeddah and Casablanca since 2023, with 3 flights a week at launch2. According to flynas, it carried more than 300,000 passengers between Saudi Arabia and Morocco in 3 years of operating the Jeddah-Casablanca route, and ran extra flights for pilgrims from Morocco3. That is the airline's own figure, not an independent count.

Saudia. The Saudi national airline served Casablanca in 2022: when it resumed seasonal Jeddah-Marrakech flights in June 2022, Marrakech was its 2nd destination in Morocco, after Casablanca4. It also flew Hajj flights from Casablanca: 3 of them for Hajj 20236. We have no recent dated source on its regular schedule from Mohammed V, so check directly with the airline.

The same three airlines carried Hajj pilgrims from Casablanca in 2023: 37 of the roughly 86 dedicated Hajj flights left from Casablanca, 23 operated by Royal Air Maroc, 11 by flynas and 3 by Saudia, for about 34,000 pilgrims in total6. Those figures describe one dedicated Hajj season, so they tell you little about the Umrah flights you can book.

Medina or Jeddah from Casablanca?

From Casablanca, a direct Madinah flight is on sale with Royal Air Maroc, according to the Royal Air Maroc website1; whether to land in Madinah or Jeddah is a question about your trip, not about the airport you leave from.

What if the trip falls in Ramadan?

Check that the ticket really leaves from CMN and note its time before planning the ride to the airport: in February 2025, almost all airlines were full on direct Morocco-Saudi flights, according to LesEco8, and a fallback with a stopover or from another airport changes the whole journey to the terminal. The national picture of flights from Morocco is on voyageomra.ma, linked at the end of this page.

What should you check before booking?

A flight advertised as “Casablanca to Jeddah” is not always a direct flight. Before paying, look at four details on the booking page:

In order

  1. Departure airport: CMN is Mohammed V. Make sure the trip does not start from another Moroccan airport.
  2. Arrival airport: JED is Jeddah, MED is Madinah. Choose the one that matches the ground arrangements in Saudi Arabia.
  3. Stops: the booking should show a single flight segment. A change of plane in another country makes the journey longer and harder for an older traveller.
  4. Airline operating the flight: the airline that sells the ticket is not always the one that flies the plane. Note the operating airline and ask it about check-in at Mohammed V.

Keep the booking confirmation, with the flight number, where your parents can show it at the airport.

Which terminal?

The ticket decides, not the habit. All international flights at Mohammed V moved from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 on 7 May 2021, according to ONDA (May 2021 statement); check the terminal on your ticket or with the airline9. We found no later public source that says which terminal handles Saudi flights today.

Hajj flights are different: the dedicated Hajj terminal and the Makkah Route apply only to them. The Hajj departure day page covers that side, and the guide to the CMN terminals sets out what is known about each building.

For the rest of the day, from the front door to the gate, read the Umrah departure guide for Mohammed V airport. For the national picture, including the Rabat-Salé route, see voyageomra.ma's overview of Umrah flights from Morocco.
