Mohammed V airport sits well outside central Casablanca, and many pilgrims leave from there without a family car: an older couple whose children live abroad, a widow travelling with a group, a visitor flying in from Europe to see parents off. This page covers the two public options the airport operator, ONDA, describes on its own website.
We only publish what we could check at the source, with its date. That means some things you might expect here, such as train timetables, the train fare, taxi prices and parking, are not on this page yet. The section at the end lists them.
Where is the airport railway station?
Inside the airport, on the arrivals side. According to ONDA, the railway station at Mohammed V airport is reached from the arrivals hall and has ticket offices and self-service machines1.
That location matters more than it seems. Someone arriving by train for a departure comes out on the arrivals side and then crosses the building to the check-in desks. With a trolley, two suitcases and an older parent, that walk takes time and energy, so count it in when you plan the trip to the airport.
Coming home, it works the other way round: after baggage claim, the station is close at hand. That is often the easiest moment of the journey to use the train.
Tickets. The station has ticket offices and self-service machines1. If your parents are not comfortable with a machine, the ticket office is the safer choice; if you are organising from abroad, look at oncf.ma together with them before the day so they know what to ask for.
Timetables and fares. ONDA does not publish them on its access page; it refers travellers to oncf.ma for connections, timetables and fares1. We have not yet checked those figures at the source, so we do not print them. Look them up on the day you plan, not weeks in advance.
The Aérobus to Casa-Port: fare and payment
The Aérobus is the airport bus between Mohammed V and Casa-Port railway station, in the city centre. According to ONDA's website (undated page), the fare is a flat 50 dirhams, payable in cash, by bank card or by rechargeable card2.
According to ONDA's website (undated page), it is also the cheapest way to reach the city centre from the airport2.
Two practical points follow from what the source does and does not say:
- The page carries no date, so the fare may have changed. Have some extra cash, in dirhams, as well as a card.
- The source gives no frequency and no hours. If your parents' flight leaves very early or lands late at night, do not count on the bus without checking it locally first.
Casa-Port suits families who live near the centre or who can be collected there. For anyone else, it adds a second leg to the journey.
Does the airport train run during Ramadan?
It did during the last two Ramadans, at a regular hourly rhythm. During Ramadan 1446 (2025), ONCF announced it would keep 1 train per hour from 5:00 to 23:00 serving Mohammed V airport3. During Ramadan 1447 (February-March 2026), ONCF kept 1 train per hour on the airport line, from 5:40 to 22:555.
The Ramadan 1448 (2027) schedule has not been published yet5. Past seasons are a guide, not a promise: wait for ONCF's announcement before fixing a plan that depends on the first or the last train of the day.
With one train an hour, missing a train costs a full hour. For a Ramadan departure, plan to take the train before the one you think you need.
Train or Aérobus with luggage and an older parent?
Neither option is better in every case. These questions help you choose:
In order
- Where does the trip start? If home is closer to Casa-Port than to a station on the airport line, the Aérobus may save a change; otherwise the train.
- How much luggage? Each change of vehicle means lifting suitcases again. Fewer changes usually means less strain.
- At what time? Check the train on oncf.ma for that exact hour; for the Aérobus, ask locally, since we have no hours from the source.
- Who carries what? If your parent cannot handle a suitcase alone, arrange for someone to travel with them as far as check-in.
The rest of the journey with an older parent, once in Saudi Arabia, is covered in voyageomra.ma's guide to Umrah with elderly parents.
Whatever you choose, keep the airline's phone number and the booking reference on paper as well as on the phone.
Once at the airport, which terminal?
The train and the bus bring you to the airport, not to a given terminal, so check the terminal before you leave home. All international flights moved from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 on 7 May 2021, according to ONDA (May 2021 statement); check the terminal on your ticket or with the airline7.
Hajj departures are a separate case, with their own terminal in recent seasons. Our explainer on the Casablanca airport terminals sets out what is known about each building, and the Umrah departure guide for Mohammed V puts the whole day in order. If the flight itself is not booked yet, see which airlines fly direct from Casablanca to Jeddah and Medina.

- Whether the Aérobus fare is still the one shown on ONDA's undated page.
- Taxi rules and fares at Mohammed V, and parking tariffs: no verified source yet.
